The history of Ouzo 12 begins in 1880 in Constantinople when the Kalogiannis brothers, in their small traditional distillery, first distilled their own ouzo. At that time, ouzo was not sold in bottles but directly from the barrel. The distillate from barrel number "12" was the one preferred by connoisseurs of the time, as the ouzo stored in it stood out for its quality, taste, and fine aroma.
